چکیده

We investigate the circumstances under which there exist a singular cardinal μ and a short (κ, μ)-extender E witnessing “κ is μ-strong”, such that μ is singular in Ult(V,E).

Short Extenders Forcings II

A model with otp(pcf(a)) = ω1 + 1 is constructed, for countable set a of regular cardinals. 1 Preliminary Settings Let 〈κα | α < ω1〉 be an an increasing continuous sequence of singular cardinals of cofinality ω so that for each α < ω1, if α = 0 or α is a successor ordinal, then κα is a limit of an increasing sequence 〈κα,n | n < ω〉 of cardinals such that (1) κα,n is strong up to a 2-Mahlo cardi...

Short extenders forcings – doing without preparations

We introduce certain morass type structures and apply them to blowing up powers of singular cardinals. As a bonus, a forcing for adding clubs with finite conditions to higher cardinals is obtained.

Simpler Short Extenders Forcing- Preserving Strong Cardinals

Our aim is to define a version of a simpler short extenders forcing preserving strong cardinals. 1 The Main Preparation Forcing In this section we will redefine the preparation forcing of [6] in order to allow eventually to preserve strong cardinals. The definition will follow those of [6] with certain additions. Fix two cardinals κ and θ such that κ < θ and θ is regular. Definition 1.1 The set...

An Iteration Model violating the Singular Cardinals Hypothesis

Models of Set Theory showing exotic behaviour at singular cardinals are usually constructed via forcing. The archetypical method is Prikry-Forcing [Pr1970], which has been generalized in various ways, as for example by Gitik and Magidor [GiMa1992]. It was observed early that Prikry generic sequences can be obtained as successive critical points in an iteration of the universe V by a normal ultr...

On Singular Stationarity II (tight stationarity and extenders-based methods)

We study the notion of tightly stationary sets which was introduced by Foreman and Magidor in [8]. We obtain two consistency results which show that it is possible for a sequence of regular cardinals hnin<! to have the property that for every sequence ~ S, of some fixed-cofinality stationary sets Sn ✓ n, ~ S is tightly stationary in a generic extension. The results are obtained using variatio...
